PBX Call Assist 5
Activation of the Auerswald UCC solution PBX Call Assist 5 for COMtrexx, COMpact and COMmander.
Attention: For the purchase of PBX Call Assist licenses, registration in our online store and the serial number of the system is mandatory.
PBX Call Assist 5 licensing consists of the basic user license and the obligatory software maintenance. The software maintenance is booked and paid for in advance for all users of a system for either 12 or 36 months. With PBX Call Assist software maintenance, the user is always assured of the latest product features. Costly upgrades to the next higher version are therefore a thing of the past. Software maintenance also includes permanent access to all the latest security updates and bug fixes.
BX Call Assist includes apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. The required LAN TAPI licenses for the connected Auerswald ITK system are also activated at no extra cost with the purchase of PBX Call Assist 5 licenses.
Notes:
- The use of the PBX Call Assist Teams app and the mobile apps for Android and iOS beyond 01.01.2025 is only possible with existing software maintenance
- Prerequisite for the usability of the PBX Call Assist 5 “1 user license” (incl. TAPI license) are at least 5 existing PBX Call Assist 5 users in the respective system.
- Please note: For the installation of PBX Call Assist 5 in COMtrexx systems, a software version from V. 2.0.3 is required.
- The Teams app is only functional under Windows 10 and 11.

Q: Software maintenance is currently included until 31.12.2024. What do I have to consider from 01.01.2025?
A: From November 2024, it will be possible to extend software maintenance beyond 01.01.2025. The following conditions apply:
Current version PBX Call Assist 5 (license model from xx.xx.):
Software maintenance is already included and you benefit from all new features such as the Teams app and ChatGPT integration as well as future enhancements - all at no additional cost.
Old version PBX Call Assist 5 (license model before xx.xx.):
In the current license model, new features such as the Teams app and ChatGPT integration are only available with active software maintenance. Please note that the mobile apps can no longer be used if the software maintenance expires.
PBX Call Assist 4:
Technical support will end on 31.12.2024. The desktop clients for Windows and macOS are basically functional, but bug fixes and security updates will no longer be provided. In addition, the latest versions of the mobile apps for iOS and Android cannot be used.
Q: What happens if the software maintenance is not extended?
A: If the software maintenance for a PBX Call Assist 5 system is not extended, the scope of services will be considerably reduced: The app for Microsoft Teams and current mobile apps can no longer be used. In addition, systems without software maintenance do not receive bug fixes and security updates; it is not possible to upgrade to new functions
Q: How can I purchase licenses or purchase/renew software maintenance for multiple systems?

Case study

Adding additional PBX Call Assist users
General
If new users are added to the current contract, they automatically receive software maintenance for the remaining term, calculated on a daily basis. Additional users can be added to the system up to 21 days before the software maintenance expires. If, for example, there are only 20 days remaining and users are to be added, a user extension is no longer offered. In this case, the software maintenance for the existing user extension must first be extended by either 12 or 36 months.

Case study
An existing COMtrexx system currently has 25 PBX Call Assist users. After 6 months, the system is to be expanded by 5 users. Software maintenance was concluded with a term of 12 months when the system was first installed. Each of the newly acquired 5 user licences will receive software maintenance for the remaining 180 days.
Example calculation
In this case, 5 x 1-user licences and the software maintenance are displayed in the shopping basket. The software maintenance for the remaining term is automatically calculated in days:
5 users x 180 days = 900 user days
A grace period of 21 days per user is always counted as a ‘credit’ and automatically deducted in the shopping basket:
5 users x 21 days = 105 user days
900 user days remaining term - 105 user days grace period = 795 user days to be paid for

It makes sense to extend the software maintenance before the end of the term so that PBX Call Assist receives all functions and updates seamlessly.
